• Sensitivity to dyes, perfumes, laundry soaps

An allergic reaction to these colorants and perfumes may cause an imbalance in the vagina.

• Diabetes
• High carbohydrate and high sugar diet

Yeast feeds on sugars.  Thus, a diet rich in carbs and sugars or too much alcohol can actually feed the yeast.

• Birth Control Pills

Birth control pills cause hormones to fluctuate.  This fluctuation can cause an imbalance in the body.

• A weakened immune system
• Stress
• Poor Diet
• Lack of Sleep

All of these are system imbalances.  Anytime the body is out of balance, it is susceptible to infections of all types.

 

The ways to avoid the virus are simple and are basically lifestyle changes that can be implemented easily.  Things like not wearing tight clothing, not using deoderant tampons, not wearing pads or panty liners after your period ends and only wearing cotton underwear can help prevent yeast infections.  By doing a few of these you can experience relief and freedom from discomfort.
